I think it is the republicans fault in this problem. The bill has already passed and they did all they could to stop it but it still went through and now all they to do is whine and moan about and cause all of this drama in Washington when they can't do anything about it. Side: Republicans
The Democrats backed the bill, yes. BUT! It WAS passed into law through our congress in 2009. That means that it got the majority vote. Because of this, IT IS LAW! It can be changed, yes, but until today, it hadn't even gone into effect! So the Republicans were basically mumbling and grumbling about how they lost the batle to kill the ACA (Affordable Care Act; aka Obamacare) so much that they refused to talk about anything else. Side: Democrats
Which bill? Who doesnt like it? If you are talking about obamacare, and congress? The republicans in congress will do anything to not agree with Obama. If obama suggest we try to breathe in more air, most of congress would be hospitalized. Congress chose a shut down over compromising. Side: Democrats

This is what it all boils down to... the repulicans have only been in the background have it all with their debates about Obamacare. Sure every now and then they had a big argument about it but now that it has gone into effect everyone is all PO'd and trying to change it now. WHY? it's all over with! It's passed! Side: Republicans

It's, without doubt, the democrats fault. They haven't seemed to be willing in the slightest to negotiate any point on the Obamacare bill. They think what they have to say in the matter is more or less the last word. We haven't gotten anywhere because of their unwillingness to work things out with the other side. Side: Republicans
Obamacare is already law, so there is nothing to compromise on! They already passed it! It's done and overwith. It wasn't even enacted until today, so all of the Republicans' complaining about how it's 'destroying businesses and peoples' livelihoods' is unjustified because it hasn't even been enacted yet! Like I said, it just started today. Side: Democrats

But there WAS something to compromise on, and the democrats completely ignored that fact. It shouldn't have been passed in the first place, since so many people have such a problem with it. There wouldn't have been a government shutdown if there had been any compromise at all. Even if it was just enacted today, that means that today is only the beginning of all of the problems that it will cause in the future. Side: Republicans

I don't believe that republicans are the ones at fault. They don't agree with the bill and the democrats are refusing to negotiate. If the democrats would simply step off of their high horse and negotiate the government wouldn't need to shut down for any length of time. Side: Republicans
